Good Lines, Great Views

Here's something you don't see every day: An interesting 1968 modern, in a great setting, and with amazing views. (I kind of like this one, if you can't tell.) The 3,000 square foot house has 4 bedrooms (and 4 baths), and a wide open living/dining room with a wall of windows overlooking the pool and the Hudson River. The two acre property is far back from the road, and the house has a long driveway through the woods. The house is located in the Mt. Airy section of Croton, in a lovely area graced by many modern homes from the 50's and 60's. While the asking price strikes me as very reasonable, the taxes are harder to justify—$30,287 a year. $990,000

This looks amazing! I love the front of it. Inside it is a little boxy. But that view is great. The taxes are nuts!!

Why are the taxes so high? Its 3,000 sq ft on 2 acres--shouldn't the taxes be around 20,000? Do they add to the taxes for views??
