"Excellent" Food in Cortlandt Manor

In the last few years, there has been a welcome explosion of good restaurants in the area. One of the recent additions is Monteverde at Oldstone Manor, which the reviewer in today's New York Times rated as "excellent." The chef, Neil Ferguson, was formerly at Gordon Ramsey's in the city, and offers a menu with "New American flair tamed by English reserve," according to the Times. The restaurant is located in a 1700's mansion just north of Peekskill, which has grand proportions and "knockout river views." The reviewer deems the restaurant in the same league as Zeph's in Peekskill. Prices are high (entrees run from $26 to $42), but it sounds worth a visit for a special occasion.
