Modern Bargain

When I first saw this listing I thought that prices must have dropped far more than I had realized. After doing a drive-by and looking at the satellite photo, I believe the reason that this home is so reasonably priced is the new construction right next door and the shared driveway. Nonetheless, it's an interesting 1972 contemporary with 2,200 square feet, 3 bedrooms, and some appealing details. The kitchen is updated and there is a cool atrium as well as a large deck. Set on 1.9 acres on Batten Road, on the edge of Croton village, the property features winter views of the Croton Dam. While it looks to need some definite sprucing up, it seems far nicer than much of what is out there for far higher prices. $589,000 Houlihan Lawrence, Nancy Kennedy, Google Map

This kind of cool. That is a nice road--close to town but feels very country. The atrium is sort of funky. It does seem like a good price. Is this a sign of things to come or does the hose have problems?
